The photo-sharing Meta owned, Instagram is expanding its Sensitive Content Control feature, which will help the users control the amount of sensitive content that they witness on the platform. According to the platform, Sensitive Content Control will cover all surfaces where we make recommendations. 

In a blog post, the platform said, “In addition to Explore, you will now be able to control the amount of sensitive content and accounts you see in Search, Reels, Accounts You Might Follow, Hashtag Pages and In-Feed Recommendations”. It also mentioned that “With this update, we are also applying the technology we use to enforce our Recommendation Guidelines to Instagram’s recommendations on Search and Hashtag pages.” 

The Sensitive Content Control feature has three options. The company, however, renamed those when it first introduced the control in order to help understand what each option does. The three options are, “More”, “Standard”, and “Less”.

Instagram allows users to control sensitive content

“Standard” is the default option which will prevent people from seeing sensitive content or any accounts. “More” will enable people to see more sensitive content and accounts,and “Less” on the other hand, means that the users will see less of the content than the default option. The “More” option is not available for people under the age of 18. 

In order to give its users a nice experience on the platform, Instagram has some additional tools such as Comment Control, Restrict, Block and Mute. the company is adding more tools in order to make Instagram work better, the company said. 

The update will be available for everyone within a week’s time.
