The Motorola Razr 3 foldable smartphone has reportedly been in the works for a while now, and recently, leaked images of the device also popped up revealing details about the possible design. Now, Motorola has officially confirmed the existence of an upcoming foldable phone, most likely the Motorola Razr 3, which will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

The chipset is built on TSMC’s 4nm process and is claimed to offer 10 per cent better CPU performance, 10 per cent faster graphics, and up to 30 per cent better power efficiency compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Motorola Razr 3 teased

First spotted by Notebookcheck, Motorola’s General Manager Shen Jin took to Weibo to post a poster of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with a caption saying, “We have hidden an easter egg, can you see it?”. At the bottom of the photo, you can see a V-shaped silhouette that represents a clamshell-style foldable phone.

The phone is most likely the new Motorola Razr 3 and the photo confirms the launch of the next-gen Motorola foldable phone with the flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. This is a huge upgrade over the original Razr and Razr 5G that came with mid-tier SoCs despite their exorbitant prices.

We can expect Motorola to reveal more details about the upcoming device relatively soon including the launch date of the phone. Aside from the SoC, everything else is pretty much under wraps for now.

Motorola Razr 3: Expected specifications

The Motorola Razr 3 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, as confirmed above. This could be paired with up to 12 GB RAM and up to 512 GB internal storage. 

The phone is touted to feature dual rear cameras including a 50 MP primary lens and a 13 MP ultra-wide shooter. The selfie camera is likely to be a 32 MP lens. 

The phone is expected to launch in China in July or August and then roll out globally. The phone will be available in two colour variants as per reports – Quartz Black and Tranquil Blue.
